To edit an existing node or add a new child node users have to propose the changes they want to make.

Proposing Content on 1Cademy

The propose/edit a node button is displayed as a pencil icon and can be used to either create a child node or to edit the node selected. The number next to the pencil icon displays how many edits have been made to the node.

Features in the 1Cademy Node Footer

The far left icon in the node footer is the profile picture of the proposer of the node. Clicking on the profile picture will open the user’s profile.

The icon next to the proposer’s picture displays the node type. This shows the type of node used to present the information. There are six node types, each with their own icon.

When nodes are overlapping and you cannot read the content, use the adjust node height button to separate the nodes so they are stacked vertically with no overlap.

When the node narration button is clicked, the node content will be read out loud for the user. To end the narration, click the same icon again.

The version history button shows you when the last edit was made, and you can click to find the past versions of the node. Past versions of the node will display on a sidebar and you can click to preview each one.

When the tags and citations button is clicked, the node will display any cited reference nodes and the tag(s) it is associated with.

If you notice any inaccurate information and/or a node is incorrectly located on the map, downvote it by clicking on the X icon.

When you find a node or proposal on 1Cademy useful and accurate, upvote it by clicking on the checkmark icon.

***Note:*** If a node is helpful and needs no further improvement, it should be upvoted. This prevents future changes and denotes the node as useful for other users.

When you feel comfortable with the content in a given node, mark it as “studied” by clicking on the envelope icon. This will turn the red border of a node to yellow.

Clicking the rightmost icon on a node will display all of its “parent” nodes and all of its “children” nodes. You can click on each of these node titles to open a parent or child node.

To follow updates made on a node, you can bookmark it by clicking on the banner icon. When a node is bookmarked in this manner, 1Cademy will notify you when changes are made to the node.
