To change an existing node, any user can propose an edit. Reasons for editing a node include, but are not limited to, improving the content, title, tag, citations, or adding links to other parents and children. 

Proposing an Edit to a Node

Users can add new child nodes to the map by proposing an addition to the node that contains the prerequisite/parent information. Users do this to expand on the information about a topic and/or fill in information gaps.

Proposing a Child Node 

First, progressive differentiation. Then, for each piece (node), do the following:
1- Integrative reconciliation.
2- Add a proposal to that node for your new node.
3- Propose improvements to the nodes and relations created by others.
4- While learning, try to come up with brilliant ideas and propose them as idea nodes in relevant areas on the map.
5- If you find helpful references, such as textbooks, research papers, websites, ..., propose and share them with 1Cademists as reference nodes.
6- Propose question nodes to evaluate how other 1Cademists have learned the knowledge on the 1Cademy map.
7- Answer as many questions as you can every day to improve your long-term learning.

The propose/edit a node button is displayed as a pencil icon and can be used to either create a child node or to edit the node selected. The number next to the pencil icon displays how many edits have been made to the node.

1Cademy has a hierarchical structure from most general concepts to more detailed information. By Clicking on the "1$\leftrightarrow$1" icon on the right-buttom you can move forward. "1$\leftrightarrow$1" icon indicates that the current node has 1 parent node and 1 child node.

Getting Used to 1Cademy

Every user on 1Cademy can upvote/downvote nodes or proposals.

Voting on 1Cademy

The acceptance threshold is the mechanism that evaluates the net vote on a proposed change to the node. The acceptance threshold works to prevent the most helpful content from being deleted while the least helpful content can easily be revised or removed.

Proposing Content on 1Cademy

When you navigate through the map and open too many nodes, your system may be overloaded and you may experience delay and lagging while navigating through the map. To solve this issue you only need to close the nodes that are not being used or revised. By closing unnecessary nodes your navigation will become smoother.
