A country's total domestic energy consumption in a given year is 1,000 terajoules. The energy used to produce goods that were exported amounts to 200 terajoules. The energy embedded in the goods it imported is 300 terajoules. Calculate the country's trade-adjusted energy use for that year and briefly explain what the difference between the domestic and trade-adjusted figures signifies.
