Short Answer

Campaign Strategy Analysis

Two political candidates from the same party are deciding which of two key issues to focus on for their primary campaign: 'Economic Reform' or 'Environmental Protection'. To maximize their individual chances of winning, each candidate must appeal to a distinct group of voters. If they both focus on the same issue, they will split that voter base, significantly lowering the chances of either winning. If they focus on different issues, each can consolidate a different voter base, greatly increasing their individual chances of success. Describe the two likely stable outcomes of this strategic situation and explain why the other two potential outcomes are unstable.
