Child Mortality Rate

The child mortality rate, also known as the under-5 mortality rate, is the probability per 1,000 live births that a newborn baby will die before reaching the age of five. It is a broader measure than the infant mortality rate and is a critical indicator of children's well-being, including health, nutrition, and the quality of the environment in which they live.
