Communicating Economic Findings

An economic consulting firm has developed a complex mathematical model, using a series of equations, to predict the employment effects of a proposed city-wide minimum wage increase. The firm must now present its findings to two very different groups: first, to a panel of academic economists for a technical review, and second, to the city council, which is composed of elected officials with varying backgrounds, many without formal training in economics. For each audience, which form of the model (verbal, graphical, or mathematical) should the firm primarily use for its presentation? Justify your choices by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of each form for communicating with that specific audience.
