In Section 6 of Chapter 10 of Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai employs the bow as a stark descriptive image alongside white hair and dried streams. He uses it briefly but powerfully to illustrate the inevitable physical decline that strips away human vitality.

Building on such established imagery, Farid al-Din Attar later expands the metaphor into a full parable in his Asrar Nameh. In Attar's narrative, a mocking youth attempts to 'purchase' an elder's bow, only to be warned that time will gift it to him for free. This comparison highlights how later poets like Attar evolved Sanai's foundational descriptive metaphors into interactive, multi-layered allegories.
