  • The field theory and comparative case study proved that the departmental and institutional fields have an influence on the course social field and therefore the sense of belonging in the course.
  • In order to improve female persistence, students should be able to ask questions, collaborate and work on examples in class, have more access to instructors, and support from the department and campus, so they feel more sense of belonging in computer science.
