Contract of Sale vs. Employment Contract: Transfer of Ownership vs. Authority

A contract of sale and an employment contract differ fundamentally in the rights they transfer. A contract for the sale of an asset, like a car, permanently transfers full ownership rights to the buyer, including the rights to use, exclude others, and resell the asset. In contrast, an employment contract involves a temporary transfer of authority. The employee grants the employer the right to direct their work activities and specify their work hours, but this does not transfer ownership of the employee themselves.
