Controlled Study

Parents’ household income, language spoken at home, and area of residence were significantly associated with their service utilization and costs—parents who speak language other than English at home and live outside capital cities used mental health services less often and incurred lower costs, and parents with lower equivalized household income used mental health services more often and incurred higher costs compared to those with higher income.
