Short Answer

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of a New Production Technology

A factory can produce a specific quantity of goods using one of two available methods:

  • Method 1: Requires 5 workers and 3 tons of raw material.
  • Method 2: Requires 2 workers and 8 tons of raw material.

A new production method is developed:

  • Method 3: Requires 2 workers and 5 tons of raw material.

Analyze the relationship between the wage rate (cost per worker) and the price of raw material that would make this new third method the most cost-effective choice compared to both of the other two methods. Explain your reasoning.
