Critique of a Simplified Economic Model

An economic model is proposed to explain the long period of economic stagnation in a pre-industrial society. The model is built entirely on a single principle: as the population of agricultural workers increases on a fixed amount of land, the average amount of food produced per worker will eventually decline.

Critically analyze this model. Explain why this single principle, while important, is insufficient on its own to create a complete theory of long-term stagnation where both population and living standards remain trapped at a low, stable level. What kind of relationship or mechanism is missing from the model to explain this equilibrium?
