Critique of Combined Job Satisfaction Measurements
A significant area for future research in job satisfaction involves refining its measurement. According to Weiss (2002), current measurement practices often fail to distinguish between the cognitive (thought-based) and emotional (feeling-based) aspects of satisfaction. It is proposed that developing separate measures for these two components could lead to more reliable assessments and a clearer understanding of how job satisfaction relates to outcomes like performance.
