Cultural Perspectives on Death

How death is viewed is heavily influenced by one's cultural and personal background. Some cultures embrace death as a natural part of life. In contrast, the historical approach in the United States, until about 50 years ago, often involved dying in a hospital without being explicitly informed of one's terminal condition.
