Cysteine

Cysteine is an example of an amino acid that has a side chain (R\text{R} group) of CH2SH\text{CH}_2\text{SH}. Structurally, a central carbon atom is bonded to a carboxyl group (COO\text{COO}^-), a hydrogen atom (H\text{H}), an amino group (NH3\text{NH}_3), and the CH2SH\text{CH}_2\text{SH} side chain.
