Dataset

Dataset of London Craftsmen's Real Wages and British Population (1264-2001)

Figure 2.1 presents a key dataset for long-term economic history, tracking the real wages of skilled craftsmen in London and the population of Britain from 1264 to 2001. The real wage, which is the money wage adjusted for price changes, is expressed as an index. This index is benchmarked against the real wage in 1850, which is set to a value of 100.
