Dismantling Motivational Interviewing: Results

It was found that 91% of participants met the criteria for the current DSM-5 alcohol dependence. There was no difference in the effects of the average of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and SOMI compared to NTC on either TLFB drinking outcome. Additionally, there were no significantly different effects on drinking between MI and SOMI. In terms of treatment conditions used in the study, the main impact of the Readiness to Change Questionnaire (RCQ) on SSD was insignificant, and the interaction effect between the two was not significant either. For HDD, there was no main effect of RCQ, but it had a primary impact on commitment to HDD.
