Divine Providence and Contentment in the Tale of Bahlool and the Halva

In Attar's Elahi Nameh, the 'Tale of Bahlool, the Halva, and the Roasted Meat' uses the 'wise fool' archetype to convey the Sufi principle of absolute contentment (Rida) with divine providence. When given rich food, Bahlool refuses to share it, arguing that since God specifically ordained this provision for him at this precise moment, it is not his place to redistribute it. The narrative serves as an allegory for accepting whatever God bestows with complete satisfaction, emphasizing that humans cannot fully grasp the pre-eternal wisdom that determines their destined portions in life.
