(10) The Tale of Bahlool, the Halva, and the Roasted Meat

Original content

English translation

When his madness overcame Bahlool, Zubaida gave him roasted meat and halva. He sat and ate joyfully; someone said, "Will you not give any to anyone?" He became furious, Saying, "Since God gave me this food at this time, How can I give it to someone else at this time? Whatever He gives you, be content with it, And if it falls into your hands, be in agreement with it. For every decree that flows from the Divine, You do not comprehend, but it is exactly what you deserve."
