| یکی پرسید ازان مجنون که تب داشت | که تب می گیردت مجنون عجب داشت |
| Someone asked that madman who had a fever, 'Does the fever seize you?' The madman was astonished. | |
| جوابش داد آن شوریده مجنون | که گر میرم کراگیرد تب اکنون |
| That frenzied madman answered him: 'If I die, whom will the fever seize now?' | |
