اساسی کز حیا ایمان نهادست
امیرالمؤمنین عثمان نهادست

فلک از بحر علم او بخاری
زمین از کوه حلم او غباری

جهان معرفت جان مصور
دو مغز آنگه ز دو نور پیمبر

چه می گویم سه مغز آمد ز انوار
ازان دو نور و از قرآن زهی کار

کسی کو در حریم این سه نورست
گرش روشن نه بیند خصم کورست

که گر خورشید نقد عین دارد
مدد از نور ذوالنورین دارد

جز او کس را بنودست این تمامی
ز پیغامبر در فرزند گرامی

چو بر اندوه نازل گشت قرآن
کسی را کاهل آنست اینست برهان

که بر اندوه از دنیا شود دور
چنین بودست آن خورشید ذوالنور

کسی کو این کرامت از خدا یافت
که دو چشم و چراغ مصطفی یافت

چو ذوالنورین هم از خانه دان بود
چگونه منکر صدقش توان بود

کسی کز آسمانش این دو نورست
مه و خورشید با او در حضورست

دم از بغضش گر از دل می بر آری
مه و خورشید را گل می برآری

عصای او بزانو آنکه بشکست
خوره در زانویش افتاد پیوست

عصائی را که در معنی چنان شد
که ثعبان وار خصم دشمنان شد

گر او را دشمنی در کون باشد
که باشد، نایب فرعون باشد

چنین گفت او که در بیعت مرا دست
چو با دست نبی الله پیوست

ز بهر حرمت دستش از آنگاه
به مکروهی نبود آن دست را راه

دلش دریای اعظم بود از علم
تن او کوه راسخ بود از حلم

حقیقت جامع قرآن دلش بود
همه اسرار عالم حاصلش بود

ز جامع بود جمعیت مدامش
ز فرقان فرق کردن خاص و عامش

چو در قرآن امام خاص و عامست
چرا در حکم خویشان ناتمامت

همه عمر او نخفتی و نخوردی
که تا در هر شبی ختمی نکردی

دران غوغا غلامانش بیکبار
سلاح آور شدند از بهر پیگار

بدیشان گفت هر بنده که امروز
سلاح انداخت آزادست و پیروز

چو شاهد بود قرآنش همیشه
مدامش جمع جامع بود پیشه

شهید قرب شاهد گشت آخر
ز قرآن یافت خونش طشت آخر

چو قرآن بود معشوقش ز آفاق
شد آخر محو قرآن شمع عشاق

اگرچه شمع جنت بود فاروق
چو شمع او باخت سر در راه معشوق

English translation

The foundation of faith that was established through modesty was laid by the Commander of the Faithful, Uthman. The sky is but a vapor from the ocean of his knowledge, and the earth is but a speck of dust from the mountain of his forbearance. He is the world of gnosis, a soul incarnate; possessing two kernels from the two lights of the Prophet. What am I saying? He became three kernels of light: from those two lights and from the Quran, what a glorious thing! Whoever is within the sanctuary of these three lights, if the enemy does not see him illuminated, the enemy is blind. For even if the sun possesses the essence of sight, it receives aid from the light of the Possessor of Two Lights. No one else possessed this completeness: to receive two noble daughters from the Prophet. Since the Quran was revealed upon sorrow, this is the proof for whoever is worthy of it, That through sorrow he departs from this world; such was that sun of the Possessor of Two Lights. Whoever received this grace from God, found the two eyes and lamps of Mustafa. Since the Possessor of Two Lights was also of the household, how could anyone deny his truthfulness? Whoever has these two lights from heaven, the moon and the sun are present with him. If you speak out of malice towards him in your heart, you are throwing mud at the moon and the sun. He who broke Uthman's staff on his knee, leprosy befell his knee immediately. A staff that, in reality, became such that like a serpent it became the adversary of enemies. If he has an enemy in the universe, who would that be? He would be the deputy of Pharaoh. He said: 'Since my hand was joined with the hand of the Prophet of God in the pledge,' 'For the sake of respecting his hand, from that moment on, that hand never committed any undesirable deed.' His heart was a great ocean of knowledge, and his body was a firm mountain of forbearance. In truth, his heart was the compiler of the Quran, and all the secrets of the world were attained by him. Through the compiler, his tranquility was constant; through the Criterion, he distinguished between the elite and the common folk. Since he is the leader of the elite and commoners in the Quran, why do your deficient kinsmen judge him? All his life he would not sleep or eat until he completed a recitation of the Quran every night. During that riot, his servants all at once brought weapons for the fight. He said to them: 'Any slave who lays down his weapons today is free and victorious.' Since the Quran was always his witness, his practice was always gathering and uniting. At last, he became a martyr of closeness to the Witness; his blood finally stained the basin of the Quran. Since the Quran was his beloved in the horizons, the candle of lovers was finally annihilated in the Quran. Although Farooq was the candle of Paradise, like a candle Uthman sacrificed his head in the path of the Beloved.
