English translation

One night, joyous Gabriel came to him, Saying, 'Behold and be aware, O Foremost of the World! Arise and pass from this dark receptacle, Journey to the Divine Capital. Step tonight towards the placeless place, Take that ring and knock upon the Sanctuary. A whole world is in tumult for you tonight, All the cherubim are your devoted servants. The prophets and messengers are standing by, So that tonight they may behold your beauty. Heaven and the skies have opened their doors, Many hearts are gladdened by the sight of you. Tonight, ask Him for whatever is your desire, For you shall undoubtedly see Allah tonight. Grieve for your community tonight, for you shall know, In truth, all the hidden secrets.' There was a Buraq brought like lightning, Which the Truth had created from His pure light. From head to toe, it was built of the Truth's light, In its swiftness, it outpaced the wind. The Prophet mounted it immediately, He left space and headed towards the spaceless. A clamor arose in the Greatest Throne, That the Foremost and the Full Moon of both worlds had arrived. Angels with trays of offerings for him, Stood all as his heartfelt lovers. He saw all the prophets on the way, Who made him aware of the divine secrets. Adam first showed all his beauty, Indeed, he gave him a robe of honor from his meeting. Then Noah made him aware of the whole, Until from his sight he became the master of secrets. From Abraham he saw total friendship, So that the ultimate proximity became evident to him. When Ishmael nurtured him, Then Isaac strengthened him from the soul. Then Jacob freed him from sorrow, So that his being flourished through love. Then Joseph told him a secret with sincerity, From the longing for the Beloved he recounted an explanation. When Moses was eager for him because of the lights, He made him peerless in total love. Then David told him many hidden secrets, Solomon gave him many explanations and descriptions. Then Jesus, when he saw his exalted essence, Made him unique in spiritual poverty. One by one, to the prophets, his hand of bounty, Truly gave honor and showed them the way. When he became aware of the proximity of the Friend, He passed on towards the Presence of the Friend. When Ahmad rushed out towards the Lote Tree, From the essence of the Friend, Ahmad raised his head high. His companion, who was the trustworthy Gabriel, Whose single wing stretched from heaven to earth, Remained there, and Mustafa went on, He went towards the proximity of the King's essence. That King asked Gabriel, 'Why did you stay? Step forward on this path.' He answered him, 'O Sultan of secrets, I have no permission to travel further than this. I have no capacity for a single moment beyond this, You must go on, O King of the world. If I go a hair's breadth higher, The light of manifestation will burn my wings. You must go to the Presence of the Friend, It befits you, who have the proximity of the Friend.' The Master departed and left him behind, He detached his heart from all but the Truth. He went so far that when he looked down, Gabriel appeared to him as a mere sparrow. He kept going until he passed this too, And gazed beyond the veil of the unseen. He saw no place nor direction, no intellect nor perception, Neither the Throne nor the carpet of earth, nor the earthly sphere. He saw the placeless clear, without body and soul, There he saw himself hidden. He passed from the body and journeyed from the soul too, When he became selfless from himself, he gazed into the Truth. When in the beginning he saw the ultimate essences, He heard the total call, the message from the Friend. A call came from the Essence of the Whole: 'Come, perishable one, Abandon body and soul, come without body and soul. Enter, O you who are our purpose and goal, Look upon our Essence in this meeting.' In that awe, his tongue stopped working, Muhammad grew weary of Muhammad. Muhammad did not see himself, he saw the Soul of souls, He saw the meeting with the Creator of being and space. Ahmad was not there; God was there, The very essence of the meeting was manifest there. He addressed him: 'O Foremost of both worlds, How are you?' He said, 'I am without how in this moment. You are without how, who am I here? Since You truly are, what should I be?' 'It is You, and nothing else is evident but You, You are the intellect, You are the heart, and You are the soul.' The address came: 'O you who are the existence of all, The safety of all and the benefit of all is you. You are our purpose in creation, Ask for whatever you want, O essence of insight.' Muhammad said, 'O Knower without how, You are the inner secret and the outer mystery. You know in truth my secret mystery, That I am in need for the sake of my community. In truth I have a sinful community, But they are all aware of Your grace. They are aware of the ocean of Your grace, What would it be if You bestow mercy upon all?' The address came from the Presence once again, 'I have forgiven them completely, O pure one. Do not grieve for your community, For Our grace is greater than their sins. In truth Our mercy is countless, Of all creations, Our business is with you. My business is with you from all horizons, I chose you and made you unique. You are unique among creation, You are like the eye of insight for all.' Then He explained the secret of the whole to him, Three times thirty thousand secrets He revealed to him. He addressed him: 'O beloved without how, Of these three times thirty thousand hidden pearls, Tell thirty thousand and do not tell thirty thousand to friends, The other thirty thousand, tell if you wish, or do not tell. Reveal to whoever you see fit, Otherwise, hide it within yourself.' When this passed, he returned from the spaceless, His soul heading towards the lower world. When he returned from that Presence in haste, His bedclothes were still warm.
