Economic Equilibrium

In economics, an equilibrium is a self-perpetuating outcome within a model. It can be compared to a state in everyday language where an object remains unchanged because the forces acting upon it are perfectly balanced. In an economic model, an equilibrium represents a stable situation that will not change unless it is disrupted by an external force—a factor that is determined outside the model itself.
