Economic Incentives for Technological Change

Historians have debated the primary causes for the widespread adoption of labor-saving machinery in the 18th-century textile industry. Construct an economic argument explaining how a sustained increase in the wages paid to manual laborers, such as spinners, could create a powerful incentive for factory owners to invest in and adopt new mechanized technologies. In your answer, analyze the trade-offs an entrepreneur would face between labor costs and capital investment.
