Some historians argue that the mechanization of industries like textile spinning was primarily a result of a unique 'culture of invention' and scientific curiosity, independent of economic pressures. Critically evaluate this 'cultural' explanation against the argument that high and rising labor costs were the main driver for developing and adopting labor-saving machinery.
