Effect of Autonomous Spending Changes on Equilibrium

A change in any component of autonomous spending, such as autonomous consumption or investment, will shift the aggregate demand curve and displace the economy's original equilibrium. This initial shift in aggregate demand directly causes a change in the equilibrium level of output and employment.
