Emergency Dispatch Rules for High-Risk Electrical Calls

Calls that suggest immediate danger, such as a panel that is smoking, repeated arcing, a sharp hot-plastic odor, or exposed energized conductors, must be triaged right away because they can create an injury or fire hazard. The dispatcher should use a priority-based decision process so the emergency gets prompt attention without causing unnecessary disruption to the rest of the work schedule.
