Emergency Dispatch Steps for a Service Call

When a high-urgency service call comes in, the dispatcher follows a three-step process. First, check for immediate danger by asking whether there is fire, smoke, overheating, or any risk of injury; if there is, tell the caller to contact emergency services right away. Second, assign the call to the correct priority level, such as P1 through P4, using the company’s urgency rules. Third, choose the nearest technician who is both available and trained for that type of problem, including someone between jobs or on work that can safely wait.
