Evaluating a Claim about Preferences

An individual's preferences for daily free time (horizontal axis) and consumption (vertical axis) are represented by an indifference map. The map shows several curves, each representing a different level of overall satisfaction. These curves are downward-sloping and bowed inward towards the origin (convex). A friend makes the following claim about this individual: 'This person would always be happier with one more hour of free time, regardless of how much consumption they must sacrifice to get it.' Evaluate the validity of this claim. In your answer, explain how the shape and properties of the indifference curves support or refute the statement.
