Evaluating Household Labor Specialization

Consider a two-person household that decides to allocate its time such that both individuals work the same total number of hours (paid employment plus unpaid domestic work). However, due to a significant difference in their market wages, one person specializes in paid work while the other takes on a much larger share of unpaid domestic duties. Critically evaluate this arrangement. In your response, discuss at least one potential economic benefit for the household and one potential long-term social or economic risk for the individual specializing in domestic work.
