Evaluating Wealth Preservation Strategies

A farmer has a large surplus of grain after a successful harvest but anticipates a poor harvest next year. The farmer's goal is to transfer this current surplus into future consumption. Compare the strategy of physically storing the surplus grain in a silo against the strategy of lending it to a neighbor who agrees to repay a larger amount of grain next year. Based on your comparison, which strategy is superior for the farmer? Justify your conclusion by explaining at least two distinct advantages of the chosen strategy.
