Example of a Deductive Reasoning Argument

A deductive argument begins with a general hypothesis and moves to a specific conclusion. For example, starting with the hypothesis 'All living things require energy to survive' and the premise 'Ducks are living things,' one can logically conclude that 'ducks require energy to survive.' Conversely, if the initial hypothesis is flawed, the conclusion will also be incorrect, even if the logic is sound. For instance, the false hypothesis 'all ducks are born with the ability to see' would lead to the invalid conclusion that a specific duck named Quackers was born with sight.
