Short Answer

Explaining the Landowner's Declining Share

A landowner's share of a harvest is represented by a hump-shaped curve when plotted against a worker's daily hours of free time. The curve peaks when the worker has 16 hours of free time and then declines. In economic terms, explain why the landowner's share begins to decrease if the worker is forced to have less than 16 hours of free time (i.e., work more than 8 hours).
