Follow-Through and After-Resolution Contact

The last stages of complaint handling are where a contractor can rebuild trust and sometimes earn future referrals.

Follow through on the promise. Do the repair or other agreed action at the time stated. If the contractor misses that commitment, the customer often feels more disappointed because the business failed twice: first with the original problem and then with the missed promise.

Check in after the work is finished. Contact the customer later to confirm that the fix solved the issue and that they are satisfied. A short phone call or text is enough. This follow-up shows that the contractor cares about the result instead of assuming the matter is over.
