Formula

Calculating Income or Consumption from Wage and Hours Worked

An individual's or household's total income from labor is determined by their wage rate and the hours they work. This relationship is expressed by the formula y=w×hy = w \times h, where yy is income, ww is the wage rate, and hh is hours worked. In economic models where it is assumed that all income is spent, income is equivalent to consumption (cc), and the formula is often written as c=whc = wh.
