GELU as a deterministic Bernoulli-gate expectation

For a fixed scalar input x, the paper motivates GELU using a Bernoulli mask M with Pr(M=1)=Φ(x). The gate outputs xM: x when M=1 and zero otherwise. Averaging over M gives E_M[xM]=xΦ(x). GELU uses this expected transformation as a deterministic nonlinearity; evaluating it does not require sampling M. The random gate motivates the activation rather than adding a sampling step to its definition. Keep x fixed when taking this expectation.
