Gender Differences in U.S. Suicide Rates and Methods
In the United States, a significant gender disparity exists in suicide statistics. Males are four times more likely to die by suicide than females, accounting for 79% of all suicides. The chosen methods also typically differ by gender, with firearms being the most common for males and poisoning being the most common for females.
