Generator Circuit and Load Selection Scope

The generator circuit is a dedicated run from the generator to the transfer switch. Wire gauge and breaker size are determined by the equipment nameplate MCA (Minimum Circuit Ampacity) and MOP (Maximum Overcurrent Protection). Load selection identifies which branch circuits the generator will feed — typically refrigerator, well pump, HVAC, and lighting. HVAC circuits must each have a dedicated circuit matching the unit nameplate. Documenting the selected loads in the proposal prevents scope disputes during installation.
