Health Care Services Opportunities and Barriers for Individuals with Syndromic IDDs During the Covid 19 Pandemic
Some families were able to connect with providers through telemedicine. Some specialties were less available than others. Remote care continues to be extremely beneficial for these individuals, especially those who live in areas without proper health care access. This study was conducted before the end of the pandemic, but it suggested that these services are likely to adapt and change for the betterment of the health of all populations.
Caregivers also reported barriers to receiving necessary supplies like medications, respite care, and medical supplies.
