Household Labor Allocation with Gender-Based Wage Discrimination (Ana and Luis Model)

This problem modifies the original Ana and Luis model to explore the effects of gender discrimination. In this hypothetical scenario, Ana's wage is reduced to $17 per hour. This change creates an incentive for the household to reallocate labor to maximize its utility and consumption by having Luis increase his paid work hours while reducing his unpaid work. However, this adjustment is subject to a new constraint: a legal or similar restriction prevents Luis from working more than 8 hours of paid labor per day.
