In Kashf al-Mahjub, Al-Hujviri explains the practices of istikhara (seeking divine guidance), isti'adha (seeking refuge), and isti'anat (seeking aid) as manifestations of taslim (absolute submission to God). He argues that true well-being does not depend on human planning or effort (tadbir), as God is the ultimate knower of what is beneficial. Therefore, these spiritual practices serve as a declaration of surrender to divine destiny (qada) and a means to guard against the shortcomings of the ego.
