In Hujwiri's Kashf al-Mahjub, Husayn ibn Ali is presented as one of the realized saints (muhaqqiqan-i awliya) and the qibla of the people of affliction (qibla-yi ahl-i bala), the slain of the plain of Karbala. The passage frames his spiritual station around a single principle: as long as the truth (haqq) was manifest, he followed and obeyed it; and when the truth was lost, he drew his sword and did not rest until he offered his precious life in martyrdom for God. His death at Karbala is thereby read not merely as a historical or political event but as the culmination of the Sufi path of bala (affliction) — sincere adherence to truth carried through to self-sacrifice.
