Implications for Third World Countries

The fact the 90% of those with AIDS are in the economically productive age group (10-49 years) has serious implications for the future of Third World countries. In Zaire, for example, it has been projected that premature deaths from AIDS will reduce the gross national product by 8% in 1995.
