In-Group Bias as a Cause of Prejudice and Discrimination

In-group bias can directly contribute to prejudice and discrimination. The preference for one's own group can lead to the perception of out-groups as different and less preferred, fostering negative attitudes (prejudice) and actions (discrimination) against their members.
