Influence of Majority Size on Conformity

The probability of an individual conforming to a group's opinion is positively correlated with the number of people in the majority, but this effect has a limit. Asch's 1955 study observed that conformity rates increased as the majority grew to seven members, but adding more people beyond that number did not further increase, and sometimes slightly decreased, conformity.
