Transaction Costs
Information Costs
Information costs are a type of transaction cost associated with the process of gathering, processing, and evaluating information needed to make an economic or political decision. These costs can be both explicit (e.g., paying for a report) and implicit (e.g., the time and mental effort required for research and analysis). In many models, high information costs can prevent individuals from making fully informed choices.
