Intrinsic vs. Extrinsic Motivation

Motivation can be classified based on its source. Intrinsic motivation arises from internal factors, where behaviors are performed for the personal satisfaction they bring. In contrast, extrinsic motivation stems from external factors, where behaviors are performed to receive a reward or outcome from others.
