Classical conditioning, also known as a conditioned reflex, is a learning process first studied by Ivan Pavlov. It involves conditioning an organism to produce an unconscious, reflexive response to a new stimulus by repeatedly associating that new stimulus with one that originally triggers the response. Over time, the new stimulus alone can elicit the reflex.
