In Section 107 of Subhat al-Abrar (within the Haft Awrang), Jami categorizes the Sufi practice of seclusion (uzlat) into two distinct levels:

1. Physical Seclusion (عزلت جسد): The seclusion of the disciples (salikan), which consists of physically withdrawing from society, staying inside one's home, avoiding idle talk, and severing ties with both the elite and the common people.
2. Spiritual Seclusion (عزلت هوش): The seclusion of the realized ones (arifan), which is the seclusion of the heart and mind. In this state, the seeker purges all thoughts other than God from the sanctuary of the heart. This gradual purification leads to absolute single-mindedness (yek-andishegi), transforming temporary mystical states into a permanent spiritual station.

Jami highlights that while physical isolation serves as an outward preparation, the higher and ultimate level of seclusion is purely internal and centered on the heart's focus on the Divine.
