- Participant example: there are certain employees who work harder than others. If there is only time to answer one email, it will be one of those people
- When one person fails to finish a task that others are dependent upon, the group learns to compensate
- Relationships can, in fact, affect task completion

- Example: completion/creation of tasks occurred in meetings and customer visits
